20101203165934Comedian George Gray has always relaxed by tinkering with stuff. The best way to learn about something says Gray, is to “take it apart and put it back together. If it still works and you haven’t wound up in the hospital, chances are- that you’ve done it right.” Gray puts this approach to the test when restoring his collection of vintage cars and motorcycles, and it also helps him in his television and film career. Gray’s quick wit and engaging presence have also served him well in the world of stand-up, improv, and sketch comedy. First starting on an open mike night at "Laffs" in Tucson, Arizona while at college, George quickly began playing clubs and touring. After graduating, he moved to LA and worked with several sketch comedy groups and eventually starting working as an audience warm-up comedian which started his television career.

Recently, George had hosted the HGTV series "Man Land" where he traveled across America looking for brave married men who claimed the basement, garage or attic and tricked it out as a guys paradise, Fox Reality's "Gimme My Reality Show", and HGTV's "What's With That House?" which looked at the crazy & bizarre homes across the country and the folks who lived in them. Gray also hosted ESPN’s sports-fantasy reality series “I’d Do Anything.” He was the host for NBC’s “$25 Million-Dollar Hoax", “National Lampoon’s Greek Games” on GSN, and created/co-hosted A&E's sketch comedy show "A Guy Walks into a Bar" with George Wendt (Cheers). In his most famed role, Gray was the host of the syndicated television game show “Weakest Link” from NBC Enterprises.

Before being cast on “Weakest Link,” Gray hosted the huge hit (and one of his favorite shows) “Junkyard Wars” (Discovery/TLC) for which he shared a 2001 Primetime Emmy Award nomination (Outstanding Non-Fiction Program). His additional television credits include host of GSN’s live version of "The Gong Show" titled “Extreme Gong”, as well as hosting roles on TNT's "Movies For Guys Who Like Movies", and Fox's "FXM Friday Nights".

George is currently the host for Speed Channels "Car Science", and after a long search, was just chosen as the permanent new announcer of CBS's "The Price Is Right", making him only the fourth full-time announcer in the multiple Emmy Award winning shows 39-year history. "I'm thrilled to now be part of The Price Is Right family, and be the one who gets to say 'Come On Down!' to all the lucky contestants." said Gray. He also recently had a cameo playing himself on the show in the upcoming Adam Sandler film "Jack and Jill'.

George is always active in philanthropic causes, and has been honored to serve as co-host of the Jerry Lewis Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) telethon, he regularly lends his time to other events to support Muscular Dystrophy research including the annual LOVE RIDE with thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts, and was priviledged to entertain US combat troops in Iraq during 2008.

Gray was born in St. Louis, Missouri, raised in Tucson, Arizona where he graduated from the University of Arizona, and currently divides his time between Los Angeles, the historic mining town of Bisbee, Arizona, and his childhood home in St. Louis. His birthday is March 11th and he has a polydactyl rescue cat from the Burbank Animal Shelter named Cracker Sinatra.
